China has opened the world's longest cross-ocean span – which extends five miles more remote than the separation in the middle of Dover and Calais.The Jiaozhou Bay extension is 26.4 miles in length and connections China's eastern port city of Qingdao to the seaward island Huangdao.The street span, which is 110ft wide and is the longest of its kind, cost almost £1billion to build.That structure highlights two scaffolds running one next to the other and is 23.87 miles long.The three-way Qingdao Haiwan scaffold is 174 times longer than London's Tower Bridge, spreading over the River Thames, however cuts just 19 miles off the drive from Qingdao to Huangdao.Two separate gatherings of laborers have been building it from various finishes of the structure following 2006.After connecting the two closures of the extension on December 22, one architect said: 'The PC models and counts are all exceptionally well yet you can't unwind until the two sides are darted together.
