The making of Nepali films is said to have begun with D.B. Pariyar's Satya Harishchandra, which was the fundamental Nepali-lingo film to be shot. It was made from Kolkata, India and was released on September 14, 1951. Aama was the essential film made in Nepal and was released on October 7, 1964. It was conveyed by the Information Department of His Majesty's Government of Nepal .
