Twelve whales were breaking off Sydney's northern shorelines while swimming up Australia's east drift on their yearly northern movement.

Goodridge shot the exceptional minute from another watercraft 500m away.

"It was truly diverting for me however most likely not for them," he said.

"The sprinkle from the whale re-entering the water cracked them out in light of the fact that their vessel weaved about like a little plug."

A large number of humpbacks and southern right whales are traveling north to spend winter off Queensland. The grand well evolved creatures come back to the Antarctic from September to November.

"By and large on these excursions the whales do get inquisitive about the water crafts however once in a while do they break so intently," Mr Goodridge told the BBC.
